Meet Dani
Hello I’m Dani. I hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and California state licensure in Speech-Language Pathology. I received a Masters of Science in Communicative Disorders with an emphasis in Speech Language Pathology from California State University, Northridge and a Bachelors of Science in Liberal Studies from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Prior to receiving my CCC’s I taught for eight years as a classroom teacher and social cognition specialist in non-public and public school settings.
I have been working full time as a speech language pathologist since 2020. The majority of my career as a speech language-pathologist has been spent in the school setting. I decided to create a practice of my own based on my passion for working with children and young adults along with their families in their natural environment, rather than a clinic or a school.
Additionally, I hold a certificate in DIRFloortime® and have training in Gestalt Language Processing (GLP) and Natural Language Acquisition (NLA). I am passionate about supporting neurodivergent individuals and their caregivers, using a developmental play based approach. I have extensive experience working with children ages 3-13 as well as young adults ages 14-22 with a variety of other speech and language differences and diagnoses. Having worked with a variety of specialists including occupational therapists, physical therapists, psychologists/psychotherapists, social workers, travel/vocational trainers, and educators, I foster interdisciplinary collaboration.
Throughout my professional career, I have learned that the relationships and connections I create with my clients and their families is of utmost importance. I am dedicated to fostering a supportive and trusting relationship with my clients and their families. I value collaboration, shared joy, individual differences, and empowering my clients.
In order to remain current in the most updated evidence based practices, I regularly attend various workshops, presentations and conferences. Additionally, I have presented at both the American Speech Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) convention and the International Council on Development and Learning DIRFloortime® (ICDL-DIRFloortime®) conference on understanding and engaging gestalt language processors.
I am a Los Angeles native residing in San Francisco, which I now call home. Some of my favorite things to do are: exploring and eating my way through various neighborhoods in San Francisco; hiking in Marin, doing yoga and pilates or spinning on my Peloton; snuggling up with a good book; and seeing live music. On the weekends, you can usually find me spending time with my partner, friends and family.
