FAQs
What steps should I take if I suspect my child might benefit from speech therapy?
We will start with a phone call to discuss your child’s speech and language strengths as well as differences. From there, an evaluation or screening may be warranted based on your child’s needs. This will help establish meaningful goals and an effective treatment plan!
What does a speech therapy evaluation involve?
A speech and language evaluation will take place either at your home or your child's school. This assessment generally involves standardized tests, clinical observations, and input from parents to develop a comprehensive understanding of your child's communication abilities. You will receive a detailed report, which can be shared with other service providers and healthcare professionals if you choose to do so.
How do you track my child’s progress?
A customized treatment plan with specific, measurable goals is developed for each client. Additional progress updates and evaluations are conducted as needed or upon request.
What can I expect during a typical speech therapy session?
Dani’s approach to treatment is through the DIRFloortime® framework which encompasses a relationship-based, developmental approach. She follows the client’s lead in order to use their interests, passions, and curiosity as a gateway into engaging in meaningful and reciprocal interactions. Each session is tailored to the unique learning strengths and differences of each client while following evidence based treatment practices.
When will my child be discharged from speech therapy?
Discharge is suggested when your child has achieved their speech and language therapy goals based on data, informal evaluations, or assessment scores. Ultimately, the final decision is determined along with the family and any need for continued support.
Do you take insurance?
Dani does not take insurance, she is an out-of-network provider, therefore insurance is not billed directly. Upon request, she will provide superbills with the required documentation and coding, which you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
What forms of payment do you accept?
At this time, cash, check, and Zelle payment are accepted. Additionally, the majority of speech and language therapy services can be paid for using your flexible spending account (FSA) or healthcare savings account (HSA.)
